Determine the condition of the card
In today’s trading card market, condition is a core component of value. Trading cards that are in mint condition tend to be worth more than cards with flaws like centering issues, dinged corners, and creases.

PSA’s free price guide that contains listings for all types of trading cards, ranging from baseball cards to trading card game cards like Pokémon and Magic: The Gathering. Updated regularly by hobby experts, here you will find prices for the most active cards in the marketplace.
If you still prefer printed price guides, you’re in luck. You can subscribe to our monthly publication, the PSA Magazine. Each issue is packed with collecting content, and of course, the most current prices for trading cards.

Market activity can paint a clear picture of the demand for your card. Demand affects value, and if your card happens to be red hot, expect a lot of activity on the available supply.
Head to PSAcard.com/auctionprices and search for your card. The more refined the query, the more accurate the results. It is best to include the year, manufacturer and subject of your card in your search. If you include the card number, expect All-Star results.
The most recent auction activity – from all the top auction houses like ebay to Heritage – will be displayed. You can refine the results by date, price, grade and more.

In addition to the final sale price, also check the number of bids on the auction listing. Price and bids combined can show you if there is a strong buyer’s market for your card.
