The salary you need to buy a home in every Irish county in 2022 (2024)

House prices across Ireland continue to rise, with new data showing they have gone up 2.4% since the start of 2022.

Property website MyHome.ie released its Q1 2022 report on Monday which revealed that the average asking price of a home nationwide is now €295,000 - up 12.3% on last year’s figures.

However, the cost of homes vary greatly from county to county.

The report looked at the average asking price for a three-bed semi-detached house in every county in Ireland.

It ranges from a reasonable €115,000 in Longford to an eye-watering €375,000 in Wicklow.

Using the latest figures from MyHome.ie we looked at what salary you would need to qualify for a mortgage on an average three-bed semi-detached home in every county in Ireland.

We based the figures on the normal maximum mortgage level which is capped at 3.5 times your gross annual salary.

Central Bank deposit rules also require a 10% deposit for first time buyers.
