Raze (2024)

Raze is the 12th Agent to join the VALORANT PROTOCOL. The tech user from Salvador, Brazil, uses a variety of colorful explosions to gain an advantage over her opponents.

Raze explodes out of Brazil with her big personality and big guns. With her blunt-force-trauma playstyle, she excels at flushing entrenched enemies and clearing tight spaces with a generous dose of “boom.”

Lore[]

Raze has a personality reflecting her explosive and colorful playstyle, bringing happiness and positivity to the team. She often cracks bad jokes and lifts the team's spirit, all while obliterating the enemy with her kit. The rest of the team can find Raze annoying, however the way she lightens the atmosphere does not go unnoticed. Raze also loves to party and is always incorporating music and festival at any chance she can get.

All while lifting her team's spirits, Raze deals heavy damage with her dangerous self-made kit. She uses her Paint Shells to send scatter grenades, flushing out and potentially eliminating enemies. Raze also uses Blast Pack to fly through the air, or set as a trap, and her signature Showstopper rocket launcher deals heavy damage, potentially killing enemies instantly. Raze's Boom Bot, also referred to as 'Bomb Buddy', is a cute homing device which explodes when near enemies. Raze creates all her gear, however borrows inspiration, and parts, from her friendly rival Killjoy.

Raze has a negative view towards Kingdom, evident due to the fact that she refers to the results of their practices as an infestation. She believes that they drive people out of their homes and take over diverse and cultured places.

Nanobomb[]

Main article: Nanobomb

Raze and Killjoy are canonically confirmed to be dating. To adequately explain the immense amount of information related to their relationship ('Nanobomb', borrowing the name used by the fanbase for their ship), it has been documented in its own page.

From Berlin to Breeze[]

In Patch 5.05, Phoenix sent Brimstone a voicemail requesting permission to attend a massive concert in Berlin with Killjoy and Raze. Brimstone apparently allowed them to go, only to receive another voicemail from Killjoy the patch after, informing him that they had somehow lost Raze in the chaos of the party. Killjoy attempted to find Raze by running scans for her communication devices, although this didn't seem to yield any results.

Shortly after this, Brimstone received a voicemail from Raze, who explained that - somehow - she found herself on Breeze, and managed to call Brimstone by rigging up a junk satellite dish. According to her explanation, the chain of events that led up to this was a complete blur, leaving it ambiguous how she made the miraculous journey overnight. Following the voicemail, a VLT/R was assumedly sent to pick her up.

Several theories emerged trying to explain how Raze ended up on Breeze, with prominent ones suggesting that α-Raze was kidnapped by Legion while she was drunk, and Ω-Raze was sent to take her place. As of yet, this has not been confirmed true or false. The voicemails of this subplot also had some other minor details, which are discussed in greater depth on the Brimstone's Office/Episode 5 page.

Omega Raze[]

As with most Agents from Omega Earth, very little is known for certain about Ω-Raze. The only time we have seen her canonically was in the REVELATION cinematic, when she was present in the plot sequence at the Korean restaurant, along with Ω-Jett and Ω-Killjoy. Given how close she seemed to Ω-Killjoy, it is likely that Nanobomb is canon on Omega Earth as well.

The only other indirect appearance of Ω-Raze was in Raze's cinematic, Color of the Town. In the final scenes, we saw Ω-Raze's Boom Bot teleporting in. It is unknown what exact purpose it was intended for, but α-Raze has failed to discover it, and the Boom Bot has remained hidden in the workshop since.

Raze (2)

We saw it again in the third post[1] of the 5.12 social media takeover (the same one which confirmed Nanobomb to be canon), where it was visible in the rafters, silently spying on the Alpha Agents.

Dossier[]

Main article: Agent Dossiers §Raze

The blackmailer released a dossier about Raze in Patch 4.04:

Raze (3)

The blackmailer mentions Raze's nickname, Tatà, as she is called among her friends. They then compliment Raze's art seen around Bahia, Salvador, stating that they have visited it in person.

The Blackmailer gets more serious, saying that she abandoned her plans against Kingdom and prioritized the VALORANT PROTOCOL. They say that Bahia will be taken over by Kingdom, and the liveliness of her home will be lost once she is killed.

Appearance[]

Raze battles with headphones, however, Brimstone doesn't let Raze listen to music as they fight so they merely serve as beautified ear muffs. Raze's snap back features a grenade in the shape of a heart on its front and starts with the same colors her pants have splashed on the left side. Her crop top has the word "BOOM" stylized on the front, with her Show Stopper strapped across her back. Raze's Paint Shells tied to her right hip feature the same heart shaped grenade as on her cap, however these grenades have their pins pulled. Her shoes are sturdy and simple with a giant "X" slapped on the tongue.

In the WARM UP cinematic, Raze (along with many other Agents) was shown wearing a different attire from what we normally see her in. For a part of the cinematic, she was wearing grenade-themed slippers, with her normal body armor taken off.

Relationships[]

Raze (4)

Killjoy

Raze and Killjoy are very close together, and on 11th December 2022, were confirmed to be dating. To properly represent all the content relating to their relationship, it has been moved to the 'Nanobomb' article.

Raze (5)

Sage

Sage thinks of Raze as unruly and impulsive, leading to reduced trust in certain situations.

Raze (6)

Jett

Jett and Raze have a friendly relationship, due to similar personalities and fighting styles. They frequently compliment each other and Raze may even consider her a sister.

Raze (7)

Breach

Raze and Breach wreak destruction on Kingdom facilities together and steal from both allies and enemies for fun. These two have broken laws together in the past prior to joining the VALORANT PROTOCOL.

Notes[]

  • Raze means destroy in English, usually referring to buildings. This reflects her kit, based around bombs and explosions.
  • Raze's working name in the files is "Clay".
  • Cypher referred to Raze as Izzy in a scrapped voiceline.
  • Carolina Ravassa messed up the original line "You can take the girl out of Salvador, but you can't take Salvador out of the girl" during recording, but the writers liked it so much they added it to the game.
  • As with every other Agent, Raze has a Spotify playlist:
