Low Education Jobs With High Pay - Dividend Income Investor (2024)

Low Education Jobs With High Pay: Nine jobs that only require experience, hard work, perseverance, and maybe a few courses.

If I had the chance to redo life from eighteen onward, I would’ve avoided college altogether.

You know what I would’ve done instead?

Work.

I would have started working.

Experience is a better teacher than school is anyways.

Plus, you can start saving and investing earlier in life.

On top of that, working instead of school would avoid student loan debt.

Of course, the downside of not going to school is that I would not be educated. As such, my resume would have less credentials.

However, the truth is that I likely could have obtained the same career as I have now.

There are plenty of low education jobs with high pay.

In this post, I will explore the best low education jobs with high pay.

Let’s get started.

“colleges are basically for fun and to prove you do your chores, but they’re not for learning.” -Elon Musk

Low Education Jobs With High Pay

Previously, I covered the best high paying part-time jobs for financial independence seekers.

This post will focus on full-time low education jobs with high pay.

These are jobs for people who want to earn as much as possible but lack an education.

In some cases, online courses may be required to obtain these jobs.

However, it is possible to obtain the following jobs without a diploma or degree.

It just requires experience, hard work, perseverance, and possibly taking courses on the side.

Low Education Jobs With High Pay - Dividend Income Investor (1)

Experience

Experience is absolutely the best teacher of all.

Prior to college, I worked at an electronics retailer as a sales representative.

Frankly, I was quite good at the job.

In fact, I was offered an assistant manager position before I went to college.

But I decided to turn down the offer because of college.

Anyways, if I took the position as assistant manager instead of going to school, I would have had more experience, more money, no student loan debt, and probably could have the same career as I have now.

Two more years of experience working as an assistant manager at 21 would have been an advantage. Instead, I ended up with student loan debt.

Hard Work

If you want to make a lot of money without being educated, you better expect to work hard.

You might have to take additional courses.

Perhaps it will require intense physical labour.

It might require long hours and extra meetings to close a sale.

Or, maybe it will take ten long years of building up your experience before you can land a better job.

Whatever the role, these jobs will require hard work.

If you’re looking to work less, check out these high paying part-time jobs.

Perseverance

If you are not well educated, you need to persevere at getting your foot in the door of the career path you want.

Then, you must put in ten years of work to gain the necessary experience to obtain the role you desire.

It might look like accepting a lower paying role at first.

For example, to get my foot in the door of a bank, I worked an outbound call centre role. That role alone allowed me to obtain the career I have now. From there, I moved to a mutual fund representative and then to working as a brokerage representative.

The experience gained through those jobs allowed me to get a job at another bank working in digital communications.

Finally, I was able to use the experience gained from working at banks to obtain the part-time, work-from-home job I am so fortunate to have now.

I have it so good now it blows my mind.

But when I look back at the process, it took me nearly ten years of gaining experience to get here. I had to persevere.

Courses/Certificates

If you are not very educated but you want to make a lot of money, you can still take online courses to boost your resume.

Personally, I prefer online courses to school because they are more specific and flexible.

I had to take a few courses and tests to obtain a career in the mutual fund and stock brokerage industries.

Furthermore, most employers will pay for courses that relate to the business. So, rather than rack up student loan debt, you can get educated for free.

The Best Low Education Jobs With High Pay

If school does not interest you, or if you failed to get an education, there are still plenty of high paying jobs available.

Here are best low education jobs with high pay:

Bank Jobs

Even if you are able to obtain an entry level position at a bank, you can build a tremendous amount of wealth.

Based on my personal experience, Canadian banks offer great pensions, benefits, and stock sharing plans. A stock sharing plan with a match is an incredible wealth building tool.

In addition, banks pay competitive salaries and annual bonuses to employees.

Entry level positions, such as a teller or call centre representative, can lead to lucrative long-term careers. They usually can be obtained with prior customer service experience, or perhaps a finance-related course.

Later on, if you are willing to take extra courses on the side, the bank will often cover the cost. Plus, they offer supportive structures and plenty of job opportunities across different departments for job growth.

Customer Service for Government

If you keep an eye out for them, flexible government jobs are available that pay high hourly wages.

Of course, higher positions require education. But entry level jobs that don’t require much education pay well.

If you are comfortable working with people, it’s a great way to help your community.

Painter

While many skilled trades require technical training, painting only requires practice and experience.

I used to paint on the side while I was in high school and college.

Typically, even an entry level painter makes more than minimum wage. It is hard work, though.

If you have your own painting business and you are fiscally responsible with managing the income, painting can be quite lucrative.

Low Education Jobs With High Pay - Dividend Income Investor (3)

Window Washer

Another labour intensive job that can pay extremely well is window washing.

You don’t have to go to school to become a window washer.

But you do have to be ok with heights, intense labour, lifting, and most of your summers will be spent working. Also, you will need to invest in a proper vehicle to transport ladders and other equipment.

Once you build up the clients, you could have a lifetime of repeat customers.

Because it’s a tough job that most people do not want to do, it pays well.

Sales

If you are an uneducated extrovert, a sales role may be the perfect job for you.

If you’re any good at it, you will make a fortune.

It could be working with sales of financial services products, or a business to business sales rep for a consumer product company—the options are endless.

Best of all, sales does not require any education. It requires natural talent, good communication skills, practice, and product knowledge.

Blogger

Believe it or not, being a blogger is a real career choice in 2020.

It just requires a lot of hard work to be successful.

To become a blogger:

  • Select a topic.
  • Start a blog.
  • Write SEO-optimized blog posts.
  • Publish blog posts consistently.
  • Monetize blog with Monumetric, Google adsense, or with affiliates.
  • Market blog content.

Basically, after you create the blog, you repeat steps three to six over and over again.

It’s like running your own magazine and selling ads in-between the pages.

The harder you work, the more money you will make.

Transit Driver

Another job that is comparable to a Government job is a transit driver.

Transit drivers that operate subways, buses, street cars, and trains are paid fairly well.

Of course, different municipalities have different requirements. But for the most part, all that is required is a high school diploma and good driving record.

Garbage Truck Driver or Sanitation Worker

Regardless of where you live, garbage must be handled.

Since garbage is something most people do not want to be around, the jobs typically pay well.

Again, like transit drivers, the requirements vary depending on the region. However, most companies look for drivers with a clean driving record, a DZ license, and decent communication skills.

Server/Bartender

If you are an uneducated extrovert who prefers to stay busy rather than be chained to a desk, being a server or bartender could be the way to wealth for you.

Although the hourly wages are low, servers and bartenders make most of their money on tips.

If good service is offered in big cities, it’s possible to take home $200 to $400 per night.

Additionally, this is also a great option if you’re looking for a high paying part-time job.

Low Education Jobs With High Pay – Concluding Thoughts

Often times, jobs that require a high education do not pay that well. It’s more about status.

So, if you don’t mind working a less status-oriented career, there are plenty of lucrative options out there.

Moreover, you just need experience, a willingness to work hard, perseverance, and a willingness to take a few courses on the side.

As a recap, here are the nine low education jobs with high pay:

  1. Bank Jobs.
  2. Customer Service for Government.
  3. Painter.
  4. Window Washer.
  5. Sales.
  6. Blogger.
  7. Transit Driver.
  8. Garbage Truck Driver or Sanitation Worker.
  9. Server/Bartender.
