Bezos net worth grew by$39.2 billion in 2017 — "the biggest single-year increase on the Billionaires List this century."
That's according to Forbes' 2017 and 2018 richest people in the world lists, which Business Insider used to calculate the daily increase in net worth of the richest people in the world. We simply found the difference between their 2017 and 2018 net worths — published by Forbes in March of each year — and divided that figure by 365 to represent the number of days in a year.
To be clear, these billionaires didn't earn the same amount of money every day in 2017, considering a great deal of their net worth comes from the value of stocks, which can fluctuate wildly.
For the purposes of this calculation, every day is counted the same, whether it was a banner day or even one where the billionaire lost millions. Note that figures are approximate because of rounding.

As a seasoned financial expert with a strong background in personal finance and wealth management, I can delve into the intricate details of the concepts touched upon in the article about the net worth increases of the world's wealthiest individuals, particularly focusing on Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos.
Firstly, the article relies on data from Forbes' 2017 and 2018 richest people in the world lists to calculate the daily increase in net worth of the billionaires. This approach is common in financial analysis, using published annual net worth figures to assess the financial performance over a specific period.
The concept of net worth is central to the discussion. Net worth is the difference between an individual's assets and liabilities. In the context of billionaires, this includes various assets such as stocks, real estate, and business holdings, minus any debts or liabilities.
The article emphasizes the notion that the daily increase in net worth does not imply a consistent daily income for these billionaires. A significant portion of their net worth comes from the value of stocks, which can fluctuate daily due to market conditions. This insight highlights the importance of understanding the composition of wealth and the impact of asset valuation on overall net worth.
Furthermore, the article mentions the total increase in net worth for each billionaire during the specified period. This total increase is calculated by finding the difference between their net worth in 2017 and 2018, providing a comprehensive measure of their financial growth over the year.
The figures presented in the article showcase the immense wealth accumulation of these individuals, with Jeff Bezos standing out as the top earner, with a staggering $107.4 million increase in net worth per day in 2017. This brings attention to the concept of daily wealth accumulation, emphasizing the astronomical financial success of certain business magnates.
In summary, this article provides insights into the dynamics of wealth growth among the world's richest individuals, utilizing concepts such as net worth, daily increase calculations, and the impact of stock market fluctuations. Understanding these financial concepts is crucial for anyone interested in personal finance, investment, and wealth management.
