14For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace.
- The grace of God is when God does things for us which we don’t deserve, didn’t earn and could never repay.
- Every good thing we have in life comes by God’s grace.
- The most amazing thing which comes to us through the grace of God is our salvation. When we accept God’s offer of forgiveness he makes us just as if we had never sinned.
- Living by grace is not becoming a Christian and then trying to follow rules to stay in God’s good books – that’s living under law.
- Living by grace is not becoming a Christian and then just doing whatever we want regardless, because we know God will forgive us – that’s living under licence.
- Living under grace is living in relationship with Jesus, allowing him to guide our behaviour, finding out what pleases him and what hurts him and acting accordingly because we love him.
Living by Grace is Really Reassuring
- God’s grace is sufficient whatever you are going through. No circ*mstance can devastate your life if you are relying on the grace of God.
- Once you are born into the family of God you cannot be unborn. God keeps us saved by his grace not by what we do.
- God does not want us to veer towards law or licence. They both suck the joy out of the Christian life. He wants us to live under grace, in relationship with him.
