One of the simplest things you can do to start earning some quick money from your website or blog is to get a Google Adsense account.
However, there are some criteria you need to meet before Google finally accepts you into their publisher program.
Adsense is free to join but Google will reject sites when it has drugs, p*rnography, or gambling content.
They will also reject personal pages, sites with excessive advertising or other content-targeted or text-based ads, incentives for clicking on the keywords ( in some cases, this could get you banned permanently), profanity, or hate of any sort.
You should read and understand Google’s Program Policies before you apply.
Basically, if you have a site that offers quality information, you’ll be able to sign up with Adsense.
The best thing about Adsense ads is that they’re contextual. That means that Google analyses the content of your site pages and decides what ads to display.
You can even specify a list of web addresses to ignore so that your competitors’ ads don’t appear on your pages, but that’s not the only thing you can control. You can even choose the size of the ad blocks and their colors.
Steps to Create an Adsense Account
Google has made it easier and faster to apply for AdSense and get your account approved. This can be done in three steps.
1. Sign up for Adsense.
2. Add Adsense code to your blog/website.
3. Wait while your account is reviewed.
Once you sign up you will have immediate access to your AdSense account. Previously, when you applied for AdSense account, you’d need to wait for your account information to be approved before you could access your account and place ad units on your site.
Now that waiting period is withdrawn, and you can create ad units and place them on your site right after signing up for AdSense.
Get started With AdSense
- Make sure your website is compliant with the AdSense program policies.
- Sign up for an AdSense account by enrolling your site.
- Add the AdSense ad code to your site.
It normally takes 48 hours for a Google Adsense team member to review your site once you add the code to your site.
Until you pass this review step, your ad units will remain blank and won’t be showing any kind of ads. Once your site is approved, ads will be displayed on your site, and you can start earning money from your content.
Tips for Quick Adsense Account Approval Process
Submit your application: The most essential factor for success with AdSense is having a site with excellent content that pleases your users – before you apply to AdSense, check that your site has engaging and original content.
And of course, you need visitors too, or no one will see your ads, so make sure that people know about your site before you place ads on it.
There are some rules about what kind of content is acceptable which you should read about it too.
Please Note: If your website is on one of the Google’s host partner such as Blogger, YouTube, or Hubpages etc. You should sign up through your account there – as these sites follow a different application process.
Place ads on your site: Now you need to quickly create your first ad unit and place the ad code on the URL that you provided in your application.
Make sure to place your ad code on all the pages of the website that receives traffic. Once done, you’ll see blank ad space as you still to pass the review before you can get fully active Adsense account.
You will also see a red bar across the top of your account saying that you are still under review.
After you had placed the ad code on a live page on your sign-up URL, Google will automatically continue the review process and check that your site complies with their Adsense program policies.
When they completed the review, you will get an email letting you know the status of your application. This process typically takes between one to two days depending on the amount of applications they are receiving.
However, If your application is not approved at this stage, you will receive an email explaining the disapproval reason and the possible action you can take so that you can get it approved in next try.
