However, we’ve never really had a loan mod in Sims 4 that allows us to borrow money from a bank and return them later, right?

Every person in the real world, at some point in time, requires a loan. Students, for example, often require loans because they need money to get through college and they plan to return them after they graduate and get a good-paying job. So, how do we add this to The Sims 4? How do we make the game more realistic by adding a loan system for our Sims too?

Fortunately, the loan mod that I want to show you here is one of the best mods I’ve tried in 2021. Not only does it enhance the general Sims 4 experience, but it also makes the game feel more natural and realistic.

Sims 4 Loan Mod in 2021: an Overview

The Sims 4 loan mod that I’m talking about here is called SimCity Loans 2.0 and its last 2021 update is from August 5th. SimCity Loans is created by MizoreYukii, a mod creator that we often feature here on SnootySims. She has a Patreon page where you can find all of her mods, read all the info about her updates, and support her with donations.

After you download the mod, make sure to extract the contents and copy them into your Mods folder. This is how you install mods in Sims 4, so it’s the same process for this mod too.

The Basics

Alright, so what does the SimCity Loans 2.0 mod actually allow you to do?

First of all, this mod allows you to get loans from the SimCity bank. Whenever you need a loan, simply hop on your computer and select SimCity Loans. These are all the loans you can get:

• §1,000
• §5,000
• §10,000
• §25,000
• §50,000
• §100,000
• §250,000
• §500,000

Once you pick the amount of money in this loan mod, your Sim will receive a Loan Package in their inventory. Open it and you’ll get your simoleons.

Now, you have two options when it comes to repaying this money. The first is “Repay in full with no interest” and the second is “Make 12, 24, or 36 payments with a 5% interest rate”.

However, if you don’t pay, or you’re simply late in paying the loan money, your Sim will receive a negative moodlet. They’ll feel scared and worried about paying the bank back. And the only way to remove this moodlet is to pay the money you owe to the bank.
