Psychology doctoral and master's programs differ considerably in the amount of funding students can get to help them get through. Here are some statistics:
Students who receive any program-awarded funding:
43 percent of students in master's programs.
80 percent to 100 percent of students in PhD programs.
14 percent to 40 percent of students in PsyD programs.
Students who receive full funding (tuition waiver plus a stipend):
Less than 10 percent of students in master's programs.
1 percent to 10 percent of students in PsyD programs.
60 percent to 90 percent of students in PhD programs.
