BDO recognizes the importance of providing a stable and sustainable dividend stream consistent with its commitment to shareholders and its financial performance. The Board of Directors may, at its discretion and depending on financial results and capital needs of the business, declare and approve the distribution of additional special dividends to shareholders.For details, please refer to Dividend History.
From June 2013 up to December 2022, the Bank paid regular quarterly cash dividends on common shares of P0.30 per share, or an annual equivalent of P1.20 per share. On 31 May 2022, the Bank also paid a P1.00 per share special cash dividend on common shares.
On 24 February 2023, the Board of Directors approved an increase in the regular quarterly cash dividends on common shares to P0.75 per share beginning on the 1st Quarter of 2023, or an annual equivalent of P3.00 per share. This will be the new dividend policy of BDO going forward.
Since 2009, BDO has paid annual cash dividends on the Bank’s peso denominated preferred shares carrying a dividend rate of 6.5%.
In 2012, the Bank issued stock dividends equivalent to 3% of outstanding capital stock. On 29 December 2022, BDO distributed stock dividends equivalent to 20% of outstanding capital stock issued out of the increase in authorized capital stock from 5.5 billion to 8.5 billion (Please refer to the Share Information section of the FAQfor more information).
