Drake has proven to be one of the most successful artists of our generation, and quite frankly, he still keeps winning. However, like everyone else, his journey started somewhere.
The “Started From The Bottom” rapper took to Instagram and shared a screenshot that revealed he once earned just $100 during a concert held at Kool Haus where Ice Cube headlined back in 2006.
It allegedly could have very well been Drake’s first concert. At this time, he had released his debut mixtape “Room For Improvement” earlier that year.

“On August 19, 2006, Ice Cube headlined the Kool Haus with supporting act Drake in what was likely his first ever concert,” the post read. “The Boy got paid a handsome sum of $100 and performed cuts from his debut mixtape Room for Improvement which was released earlier that year. Classic history!”
Fast forward and Drake has become one of the highest-paid entertainers across the globe. As AfroTech previously told you, part of Drake’s net worth includes $50 million in earnings from his music catalog, as of 2021. Additionally, he reportedly earns $1 million per concert, according to Celebrity Net Worth.
Back in 2019, Drake’s last tour raked in $33,851,546 thanks to 23 shows held throughout Europe. Just the year before, his Aubrey & the Three Migos Tour generated a whopping $103,060,112 from 54 shows, Touring Data reports.
The numbers don’t lie. The “Honestly, Nevermind” artist has come a long way from his first concert appearance. Drake affirmed this in an accompanying message under the post on Tuesday (October 18).
He hopes other artists working for their breakthrough moment in the music industry will be inspired to keep their foot on the gas.
“This is for anybody getting 100 a show right now…keep going,” Drake wrote on his Instagram story.
The gig took place Aug. 19, 2006, at the now-shuttered venue, Kool Haus, with Drake earning a meager $100 that night as he opened up for Ice Cube. Drake confirmed the veracity of the invoice and his payday, writing on Instagram Stories, “This is for anybody getting 100 a show right now…keep going.”
An example fee to book Drake is in the starting range of $2,500,000-$6,000,000. However, any recent popularity change would cause a price fluctuation well beyond this example. Also, their speaking fee might be different than the fee shown for the cost to perform or to just appear.
Drake's influence has been prominent in new artists as well. Rapper Jack Harlow reminds everyone of Drake, with Harlow even earning a feature from him. Many artists today looked up to Drake when they were coming up.
According to Celebrity Net Worth, Drake is reportedly worth a whopping $250 million dollars. In addition to this net sum, he was gifted his 'Air Drake' private jet, which is worth $185 million. His Toronto property is also worth an estimated $100 million.

Drake's breakthrough came in 2009 with the release of the mixtape So Far Gone and its hit single “Best I Ever Had.” A bidding war between labels soon ensued, and Drake ultimately signed with Lil Wayne's Young Money Entertainment, a subsidiary of Cash Money.
