The American Silver Eagle Coin Series
Introduced in 1986, the Silver American Eagle is one of the most prolific and popular bullion programs created by the United States Mint. Silver American Eagle coins are beloved worldwide and are highly sought after coins due to their guarantee by the United States government, their iconic patriotic design, and their high liquidity. The iconic obverse design, first created by Adolf Weinman in 1916, is acknowledged as among the most beautiful U.S. coin designs in history and is instantly recognizable.

IRA-Approved Silver Eagles
In the midst of the various social, political, and financial factors that can impact today's global economy, Silver holdings in an IRA may provide some financial reassurance and stability. Many view Precious Metals, like Silver, as a more secure option for investment. An IRA backed by Silver can give you the chance to invest in a physical commodity with a strong historic record as a store of value. The Silver American Eagle is IRA-Approved and widely available at APMEX.

After you add a Silver American Eagle BU to your cart, compare Silver Eagles with Silver Maples, which are also IRA eligible.

Why Pay the Premium?

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

A beautiful coin, patriotic purchase, and always easy to sell — but why pay the premium for American Eagles when generic rounds on the secondary market cost less, have the same melt value, and often carry very interesting designs? Since 2016 these have not appreciated in value as compared to many other silver rounds. Just a thought.

  • Pros
  • Easy to Sell
  • Mint Condition
  • Recognized Brand
  • Cons
  • Common (higher mintage)
  • Bottom Line
  • No, I would not recommend this to a friend
