With most career paths or businesses, you can search online to find out what could be expected in terms of income. But running an online business is pretty new and unknown territory.

I hope to show you with these income reports just what is possible when you build an online business! It’s my hope that if you dream of running an online business too, these reports encourage you to work towards making that dream into your reality!

Personal News

Canada Life:

For the first week of August, I was still kicking around Canada. I packed the last week full of both work and seeing all my friends and family one more time before heading back to Germany. I went down to Niagara-On-The-Lake for a wine tasting and then packed my bags and headed back to Germany! … For a week, lol.

Learned to sail in Croatia:

Sooo this might sound pretty random, but I’ve wanted to learn how to sail for a while! Back in my web designer days, I would binge the YouTube channel Sailing La Vagabonde while doing site designs. I found that my brain would get bored while designing websites and doing repetitive tasks like optimizing photos, so I’d have their channel on in the background.

Anyways, after watching two wild Australians sail around the world for a couple years, I decided that one day I’d like to sail myself across the Atlantic. Because how amazing would it be to know that you got yourself across an ocean?! Pretty sweet if I do say so myself!

I’m not entirely sure how I found it, but I came across Sailing Virgins, a company which offers ‘sailing school trips’ which are kinda half a vacation and half a sailing school, all with instructors who have skippered The Yacht Week before, and they aim to serve millennials, meaning your crew won’t be a bunch of 60 year olds. I signed up for their Croatia beginner course and what do you know, the cousin of one of the La Vagabonde sailors was my instructor!

I legitimately don’t think I’ve ever learned so much in 1 week in my life, and will definitely be back for another Sailing Virgins course in the future! If you want to learn to sail, Sailing Virgins def has my recommendation.

If you give me a sail boat, I could legitimately hoist the sails, navigate us and use the wind to get us to where we want to go, how cool is that?! I also have a fancy sailing certification under my belt now.

Business news

Prepared for Square Secrets launch:

Sooo it’s safe to say I’ve been pretty scatter brained about my business lately, and that resulted in me planning for only 1 launch prep week instead of 2 as we normally do. Not to mention, it’s my new assistants first time launching, so she has to learn everything for the first time during this launch. Whooops!

Anyways, we packed launch prep into just 1 week, and it turned out fine anyways, so in the future I might actually just always do 1 week launch prep to be more efficient.

I trained my new assistant on how we launch, including going through every single launch week task with her while on a call, explaining why we do each one and explaining anything she might need to know about the task. Most of the tasks thankfully already have corresponding tutorial videos, so I didn’t have to walk through each and every click for every task which was a huge time-saver.

This will be our 4th time launching Square Secrets and I’m really so excited to meet the new class of students!

Started office redecoration/reorganization:

It’s safe to say my fiancé and my home office is an explosion of disorganized stuff. We have 1 bookshelf which is literally overflowing with books and binders, and now they’re piling up on the floor. Our office tends to be the place we store any extra random stuff which doesn’t make sense in our bedroom or living room (gym bags, bike helmets, yoga mats, shoes, gifts, wrapping paper, etc.) and it’s truly getting out of hand these days.

So I browsed online and prepared a list of stuff to get to help get the office back under control. I hit up IKEA and ordered a couple things from WayFair and now I’m just waiting for it all to be delivered so I can start rearranging and organizing our office.

I’ll show ya before & after photos once it’s all done!

Wrote a half-year business review:

At the beginning of the year I asked myself a few key questions including:

  • What do I want my life to look like in 2019?

  • In order to live my ideal 2019 life I need to:

  • What would I do in 2019 if I couldn’t fail?

  • What did I hate working on? What was tough? What felt difficult?

I then looked at my answers and checked in with how well I had done on each one.

Some I made significant progress on (launching the podcast, running FB ads, getting legal ducks in a row, saving for a house down payment, travel, improving my German) others I still slacked on (joining a field hockey team, posting on the Instagram feed consistently, speaking at a coworking space or conference, and launching an online shop of digital products).
