Aruba: OK for Americans to Drink the Water?
Save
My husband and I are going to Aruba in the near future and staying at the Hyatt Regency.
This may seem like a silly question but...
Is it okay to drink the water?
(I'm not talking about slurping out of the tap here. Instead...are we likely to get sick if we, say, brush our teeth with it or have a frozen drink?)
I tried the CDC web site and it was of little help.
Thanks for any info you can provide. I appreciate it!

The water is totally safe in Aruba. It tastes great and you CAN'T get sick from it. Went there and drank it everyday!
Have fun!

Actually, it's generally ok to slurp from the tap. Many people buy a couple bottles of water at the beginning of their trip and just refill them from the sink for the rest of the time. The water in Aruba comes from the Sea into a desalinization plant...so...basically...it's purified water.

Much obliged.

The water from the tap is delicious to drink in Aruba. It may be warm from the tap, but nothing a few ice cubes can't cure and is safe as well.

We had a six-can collapsible cooler and every morning we would refill our waterbottles from the tap and fill the cooler with ice. It was nice to have ice cold water sitting on the beach.
